Out with the old, in with the new! Set yourself up for digital success in 2022 by spending a few minutes getting to know our new Site Builder UI outlined in this blog.
Storbie is committed to ensuring that every customer and user has a great experience using the Storbie platform. That’s why we are dedicated to finding ways to continually improve the experience for our users with every product release. We are excited to announce the upcoming full deploy of our brand-new Site Builder User Interface (UI), which is designed to maximise user productivity, and ensure that user experience is intuitive, and visually appealing.
We’ve updated the look and feel of the entire interface of the site builder with new ways to add and move content items, change page content width, and navigate sites. The refresh includes a more appealing interface, easier content addition, and a new range of design options across all website pages. Our team is currently adding the final touches to this feature, and we hope you're as excited as we are.
Get a head start and familiarise yourself with the benefits of the new and improved site builder UI!
Add New Content Items
In edit mode you’ll see a plus (+) symbol wherever you can add content to the page. Content can still be moved with cut/copy/paste or by drag and dropping the content items toolbar.
Change Page Width
To give you more site design flexibility and diversity,we have introduced new content width options. Each content item will have a Display Settings option, that allows you to determine the content width of the item.
Dropdown Menus
The long awaited and much requested - dropdown menus are here! Top-level navigation menus and sub-menus are revealed when a user navigates through the menu items. Users are accustomed to this commonly used navigation scheme, making for an easy transition.
Dropdown menus conserve screen space and can help users narrow down their choices as to where they want to go and what they are looking for. By nesting links, the design of the web page is cleaner, with fewer links on the main page. This also reduces the number of clicks and page loads by making all the information accessible from a main menu area.
Deprecated Sidebars
When you activate these new features, you’ll notice that the left menu and right sidebars have disappeared. As we move forward, some features will get left behind! The new site builder will use drop-down menus and link galleries instead of a left menu sidebar.
If you do enjoy Storbie sidebars, don’t despair, we will be releasing a faceted product filter in the near future.
Multiple Sets of Master Items for a Page
You can now split up your page master items by adding multiple Page Content items to your master page and still have the option to hide master content items for specified pages.
Background Colours
Background colours has rolled out to the new Storbie Site Builder. This feature supports the addition of background colours against content items like page banners, product galleries, and page galleries.
Announcement Bar
An announcement bar is a full-width content item and can be used to communicate important updates, promote a new product, or announce limited-time offers. They usually have a short line of text and can host a link. You can now add an announcement bar to your website.

These enhancements are currently being piloted by a small group of beta testers and will be available to a wider set of customers in the coming weeks. New customers will land in the new user interface by default upon creating a new site, while existing customers will have the option to migrate their site to the new site builder.
We hope you are as excited as we are to see this major update live on Storbie! As always, we’re eager to hear what you think. If you have feedback on these enhancements or ideas for additional enhancements you’d like to see, please contact support@storbie.com.
